Drops is the NFT launchpad built into Hup. You describe a collection once, sign one transaction, and the engine deploys a contract you own, opens a mint on your terms, and pays you the moment someone mints. This walkthrough follows the first drop launched on Hup, Pink Horizon on LUKSO, from an empty form to a live mint. Everything here applies to the other chains too.
Before you start
- Connect the wallet that should own the collection. On LUKSO that is your Universal Profile through the UP browser extension. On Base, BNB, Celo, Monad or Robinhood a MetaMask account works the same way. The wallet has to be on the network you pick. The form warns you and asks to switch if it is not.
- Have your artwork ready. One image for the collection, plus an optional wide banner and a square icon. SVG, PNG, JPG, GIF and WebP all work, up to 10 MB each.
- Know your numbers. Supply, price and the per-wallet cap are the three decisions that shape the mint. Name, ticker, type and supply become permanent the moment the drop is created, so settle them before you open the form.
Step 1: Open the form
Go to Drops and press Create, or press the Drop button in the composer. Both open the same form. It saves a draft as you type, so you can leave and come back.
Step 2: Network
Pick the chain the collection should live on. Pink Horizon lives on LUKSO. This is the one step you cannot revisit once the drop exists, because the contract is deployed there.
Step 3: Details
- Artwork. Upload the collection image. This is what the directory card, the drop page and every explorer shows.
- Name and ticker. The ticker fills in from the name. Change it if you like.
- Description. Up to 280 characters. Say what the drop is and why it exists.
- Collection type. Unique numbered mints tokens with their own ids, one per mint. Identical editions mints one artwork many times. On LUKSO these are LSP8 and LSP7. Elsewhere they are ERC721 and ERC1155.
- Supply. The total that can ever be minted. Leave it blank for an open edition with no cap.
Step 4: The mint schedule
A drop sells in phases. One phase is enough for most drops. Each phase has its own label, window, price, per-wallet cap and gate.
- Label. Stored onchain and shown to minters. "Presale" and "Public" are the usual pair.
- Window. A start and an end, or leave the end open. You can also start a phase by hand later.
- Price. In the chain's coin by default. Pick a token instead and the price is in that token's own units.
- Per-wallet cap. How many one wallet can mint in this phase.
- Gate. Who can mint. Open means anyone. Allowlist takes a list of addresses. Followers limits it to people who follow you on Hup. Community limits it to members of one of your communities. Token holders and Edition holders require a balance of a contract you name, including a minimum balance of the chain's own coin.
Press Add a phase for a presale and a public sale. The order and the terms are fixed once the drop is created. You can pause a phase or add a new one later, but never rewrite one.
Step 5: Collection settings
- Royalty. A share of every resale, paid to you or to a split.
- Burnable. Whether holders can burn tokens. Fixed forever at launch.
- Feature this drop. Puts the drop at the top of the directory while it mints, for a fee shown on the review step.
- Referral. A share of each mint paid to whoever brought the minter.
- Branding. Banner, icon, website and social links. All of these can be changed later.
Step 6: Artwork per token
This step appears only for numbered collections. Upload a zip with one image per token and an optional traits file, or skip the zip and let the form number the tokens off the collection artwork with a base name like "Pink Horizon #".
Step 7: Payout
Choose where mint proceeds go: to you, to another wallet, or to a split between up to 20 collaborators. Royalties can go to you or to a split as well. Money is pushed straight to that destination on every mint. There is no escrow and nothing to claim.
Step 8: Review and create
The review lists everything that becomes permanent, plus the total your wallet will be asked for. Press Create. The form pins your files to IPFS, asks your wallet to sign once, and waits for the network. Leave the page alone until it reports the drop is live. If the page reloads, it picks up where it left off and tells you whether the transaction went through.
After it is live
- You own the contract. Hup deployed it, but the owner is your wallet from the first block.
- List it on your profile. On LUKSO the form offers one extra signature that adds the collection to your Universal Profile's issued assets, so explorers show you as a verified creator.
- Manage it from the drop page. Pause a phase, add one, edit the allowlist, change the payout destination, or update the metadata until you choose to freeze it.
- Share it. Attach the drop to any post from the composer, so people can mint without leaving their feed.
That is the whole flow. See it in practice at Pink Horizon, then launch your own.
