Hi. This is a chapter in my story.
It is a welcoming, and also it's me, working some stuff out. I appreciate being able to share it with you.
Ever been knocked down?
Told to "stay in your lane"?
How about, "don't take this personally but..."
Or, "send me your resume so I can learn more about you"
All of that noise, was a weight for me. Blinding pressure, suffocating, a vacuum for my spirit....separating me from my true self.
So, I put masks on. Fake, but protective masks.
The masks, clouded my dreams, so I did not think them possible.
Then, very recently - I asked for help. I needed help to remove the masks, there were many.
Expressive writing helped me. I found something. A dream, that I always had. It started to become clearer. I asked for more help.
Then, a memory...
For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to see a visual record of professional life - a living tree of all the people we’ve worked with, learned from, and trusted.
Not a corporate résumé or a social-media contact list, but something that truly belongs to each of us.
A map of mentorship, friendship, and trust that can never be taken away, altered, or abused. I’ve tried to build it before - through texts, chats, email groups, podcasts, even private online communities. Every attempt ended up centralized and outside my control.
Sometimes it was misused: recruiters contacting people I’d vouched for, companies treating human connections like leads.
It hurt to watch good, decent people - people who had already proven their worth through years of service and loyalty - being forced to start over again with a piece of paper and another round of interviews.
That system never understood what I was trying to protect: the power of trust built through work, service, and care.
I’ve spent decades in hospitality, surrounded by generous, flawed, brilliant people who keep giving even when no one notices.
I wanted a way to honor them - to say, “That person has my trust. They’re real. They’re trying.”
But nothing stuck… until now.
When I found Common Ground, after years of exploring Web3, then discovered Universal Profiles and LUKSO, something clicked.
This technology finally gives us a way to own our identities and our connections.
Each person can be a branch on their own tree - connected, visible, but self-owned.
No one can sell or manipulate that data. It’s ours, collectively and individually.
For me, joining this world felt like walking into my first management job at a hotel 30 years ago: nervous, underqualified, but welcomed anyway.
Those early mentors and teammates were the first roots of my professional family tree, and I didn’t even know it.
Now I can imagine that tree again - owned by everyone who helped it grow.
Each branch another person, each leaf a shared story, each seed a new connection that might someday become its own forest.
And when I look at that forest, another vision appears - one I’ve carried for years and never thought possible.
If we can own our digital connections, why can’t we own something real together? A small piece of land where we can pitch a tent once in a while and know that it truly belongs to us.
A tiny gelato shop in a small town, a mountain inn beside a stream, a little beach resort built by people who care about one another.
If we can own those things together - why not build our own brand that travelers will seek out because they know the people behind it are genuine, independent, and human?
And if we can do that, maybe we can help small, honest operators everywhere stay independent - free from the heavy fees and extractive systems that drain the spirit out of hospitality.
Maybe we can make ownership, creativity, and generosity the new foundation of how travel and service work.
This isn’t theory anymore.
Common Ground, LUKSO, and Universal Profiles give us the structure to make it real: a professional ancestry of trust, owned by its people, verified by the relationships themselves.
This is my dream come true.
And it’s only beginning.
I’m here to welcome you - with open arms, open doors, open emotions, and open mistakes.
Let’s grow the forest together.
Let’s own our history, our identity, and our value.
And let’s see how far this dream can go - because I can’t wait for what comes next, with you.
